Wizard World Comic Con is taking on the city of Chicago, IL beginning August 24th and we can’t wait for the event. It’s the 20th anniversary of the convention rolling into the windy city and they’re marking the special date with some big events and even bigger names this time around.
Headliners this year include Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin from Stranger Things as well as David Tennant, John Barrowman, and Alex Kingston of Doctor Who. Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bethany of Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War. Steve Blum, Elizabeth Henstridge, Gene Simmons – yes…THE Gene Simmons James Roday, Duke Hill, John Cusack and Jewel Staite will also join this year’s already announced celebrity guests.
Names like Charisma Carpenter, Nicholas Brendon, Kevin Conroy and Lou Ferrigno have already been secured and there are likely more to come before the convention takes place August 24th – 27th. In addition to the incredible celebrity lineup, there are artists, writers, cosplayers, and many other talents in the comic book world.
There are other special events taking place during the long weekend, two of which will appeal to fans of music and film. An Evening with Gene Simmons and his band will take place Saturday at 8 pm and Barry Bostwick will host a screening of Rocky Horror Picture Show Saturday at 9pm.
There will undoubtedly be more announcements made as the countdown grows shorter but we have to admit, with these names already, we’re sold on making the trip, and we hope to see all of you there too!
